Last May I entered a 24 Hour Video Race as a solo artist. I ended up winning two awards for that catagory. (Honorable Mention-Juried, 1st Place-Popular Vote)

They took all the entries and made a 2 disk DVD set out of them that will be released October 1st at a launch party in Dallas.

If you are in the North Texas area, you might want to check it out. Some of them are really incredible!

Here's the invite:

and here's my entry, if you care to take a look:

You had to use these 3 things or ideas in the video: 1)school, 2)eyeball toy and 3)the theme "photo finish".

Thanks for all the help from this forum!

Congrats, Chris,

That was fun to check-out!

Please tell us more about the race... the requirements, sponsors, your challenges, etc.

Edited on Vegas?

Cheers, MPH

Thanks! Here's the explaination from www.videofest.org.
(The secret location was a school, the prop an eyeball toy and the theme was photo finish.)
Having only a mere 24-hours to complete a digital video will make it a true challenge of talent, creativity and grace under pressure. There are teams in different categories, grouped so that teams will be competing with their peers. All teams will be given the same instructions--to create a 5-minute or under digital video on a given theme, using a given prop and include a secret location. The teams will all interpret the same theme, but the videos are sure to exhibit an interesting range in interpretation and style. Videos will be judged here online and at the 15th Annual Dallas Video Festival on May 16.

Y'all might also be interested in something very similar, the "48 hour film project."
I missed the last one in DC, but some friends of mine were involved and had a blast.

My friend used Vegas to make an entry for another unique film festival called 'Stock Stock'. It involved the festival producers providing entrants with stock footage and they had to make a film out of that footage.
