the program to open a file on a dvd r. I just had all of our home videos transferred to DVD R by a local company. Is there a specific format that Architect has to read, or am I doing something wrong. I selected the drive (DVD f:) located my files, clicked and dragged, double clicked, clicked play for preview, but nothing nada zilch zippo...

Thanks for any help.

Is the DVD you're referring to intended to be played in a DVD player? If so, the files are not in the proper format to be used readliy with DVD Architect. (although, with some additional steps, they can be) You'll have to learn how to deal with VOB files, which are used to store video and audio on a playable DVD. Working with VOB files on an existing DVD isn't really what DVD Architect was designed for.

Basically, DVD Architect's main function is to create DVDs from AVI or MPEG-2 files that have been prepared by a video editing program like Vegas. If your transfer company wrote data DVDs with files of this type, they can be used. If the files on your DVD are not in one of these formats, your task will be much more difficult, especially for a first project.
