Without knowing all the settings, or seeing the video, at best a shot in the dark.

For starters did you use the default bitrate or change it?

Did the video have the artifacts BEFORE you burned it to DVD?

How did you bring the project into DVD-A, as a MPEG-2 or as a AVI? Did it get recompressed?

Are you viewing the result off a computer, and if so through a specific DVD player application or something else?

Do the artifacts show up on a set top DVD player?

You must render MPEG- 2 DVD compliant files from the timeline in Vegas or render avi. files in DVDA or a similar program.

frost....it definately is in the rendering of the product that you are getting the artifacts.

I had a perfectly good copy of a file edited and about to shoot over to DVD. I forget what I did...but I think I rendered as MPEG1 not 2 and took it into another application I have (EasyX Converter) and converted to MPEG2 and then burned my DVD.

Artifacts all over the place. Then went back and previewed the file in my media player and they were there too. So it wasn't the process of burning that caused it it was the rendering that messed it up.

Good thing I was still in test mode buring to RWs
