I need some help!

Let me start off by saying I am pretty much a "noob" at all this. I use a Hauppauge HD PVR to record PS3 gameplay, once I record for lets say a hour or two I then convert the file. To be honest I have no idea why there is a need to convert it, I don't even know what it converts it to. Anyways I used Windows Live Movie Maker and I would always click Publish Move- Save in HD and when I upload it onto youtube it looked great. Well Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a lot of editing stuff so I bought this but I am having a lot of trouble uploading a good looking video. I followed this guide http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/ so I could upload in HD. I rendered it in WMV and then I upload it onto youtube. The current videos i'm uploading using Vegas are okay but still don't look great. When I used Windows Movie Maker they looked really good. For example here is one of my vegas videos (watch in 720)

If anyone can help me out, it'd be much appreciated!

If it doesn't look great, then simply add more bitrate. The only thing that generally determines quality is bitrate.

However, if all your Vegas exports are not "as good" as Movie Maker's then it's probably a perceiving problem on your part. Maybe Vegas uses or exports with a different gamma, and that makes you think that the quality is not as good.

Or you didn't setup the project properties properly, or you didn't disable resample...
