If you have backups of the data on the SDHC, why not just format it? You can also try Chkdsk (chkdsk.exe from the command prompt). It should repair corrupted FAT files. If you are running Vista, you might try this tool.

Apologies for not being specific, but at least one flash memory vendor that I have purchased from provides free recovery software. Unfortunately I don't remember who it was, but SanDisk is one I use quite often, so it might be them.

As a general warning, I'd stay away from CHKDSK until I have a bitwise duplicate of the memory card. Do not use any tools that will modify the contents of the card (such as CHKDSK). Good recovery tools will access the faulty media as read-only and recover files in an alternate location.

There are several freeware tools available too. Here's one that I haven't used, but looks promising: PhotRec.

I have recovered digital photo date from memory cards with great success using the freeware PC file Inspector - just Google and fine a US download site.
