I think my audio interface is causing Vegas to crash

Vegas Pro 18 latest constantly hangs for me during timeline manipulation or playback and I have to force close it and reload the project when this happens. Autosave has saved me a ton but this is still super annoying when trying to edit long videos. Recently I tried Vegas with my Tascam US-20x20 audio interface disconnected and with just a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Vegas suddenly seemed much more stable. Problem is I obviously don't want to record my voiceovers with the crappy headset mic and would much rather use my expensive XLR mic but I can't do that without my audio interface. With the audio interface I tried with the Windows Sound Mapper and with the specific Tascam US-20x20 ASIO driver but Vegas crashes like crazy with either. The interface has no problems in DAWs, why does Vegas not like it? How can I solve this issue?

I had similar experience with Steinberg UR44C. Vegas crashing when trying to use the asio driver. But the latest build seems to work OK.

Are your project audio settings (sample rate, bit depth) the same as your asio driver settings?

Yeah, 24 bit 48kHz. I also saw that Buffer size was set to MME in Audio Device Settings within Vegas. Don't really know what that means so I just changed it to 512 to match my ASIO driver settings as well. We'll see what happens. There are also some other options in audio device settings like "Interpolate position" and "Do not pre-roll buffers before starting playback". Unsure if those would have anything to do with crashing though.

Try ASIO4ALL

These are my audio settings when using asio driver. They are pretty much the defaults as I haven't changed anything apart from selecting asio driver. So far it works ok.

I've used it before in my DAW Reaper but it had higher latency which is a no go for music production. Might be fine for video production though I'll give it a shot.

Thank you! I'll compare and see if mine looks like that.

My settings for Vegas look like the screenshots posted but just with my interface name instead.

Also tried ASIO4ALL again. Selecting it and configuring it to use my interface in Vegas bluescreens my PC.
