..question numerous times, but perhaps I'm in the wrong topic/cat..! what do I lose by taking VV3 off my system, and "replacing" it with CDA 5.0...? I also have SF6 and acid 4...purely for streamlining my setup..(not thinking about getting rid of VV3 obviously)..
... and it has been answered numerous times. Why did you buy VV3 (you *did* buy it ?) - just for the DAO CD writing ? If you have any need for mutlitrack audio recording, then V3 is best. Moreso than Acid, which is 'different'.
I also find V3 to be my preferred app for piecing together fragmented bits and pieces of files.
I do not juarez no thank you on anything..repeat...anything..now i may look at video editing later on...the filing sys is something I didn't think about...what the hell..all I was trying to do is get a straight answer on possible redundancies that may or may not exist betwixt acidpro4, sf6, vv3 and cda 5, that's all...redundancy can be a good thing, I guess...I've got a "birds-eye" view of it all, but thot someone could enlighten me a bit...thanks to all and happy new year..
Maybe a better question is, what do you gain by adding CDA 5.0 to your current setup? Answer, nothing. You already have most all of the features within CD Architect by having Sound Forge, Acid, and Vegas on your system. If you want to streamline, get rid of CDA. Vegas has more features than CDA except for a CD transport simulator, a burn CD button, and a print cuesheet option, which can be done within Vegas using a copy and paste to a word processor (Winword) and has been around longer, therefore fewer bugs. If you want a program, that has redundant features and simplified because, it don't have a multi-track option, then keep CDA on your system.
Vegas is a multi-track program, and CD architect is a stereo/2 track editor editor with an extra audio layer so you can mix and overlap audio events. So it just depends on your preference of working.
Have I missed something in CDA5 . Editor ? I suppose that depends on your definition of editor - but you probably call Vegas an 'editor', whereas I don't..... Which is why I have SForge.
