I would like to use the MPEG option.

Hi there from the UK,

I think Vf is terrrriffffic! All that angst from VW5 - gone!

Okay, I'm in "Make Movie" and wanting to experiment with the long render times, I've selected to use the MPEG option (AVI no problemo). Im told by VF that I need to Register the MPEG online - okey dokey. I've even got a card telling me to do this at - www.sonicfoundry.com/freempegplugin.com - Get to the page, told that the "card" was slipped into my boxed set by mistake, and I'm told that the MPEG is on my install CD - it isn't. Do I just go ahead and download the MPEG from VF site anyway or what?

VF's functionality is brilliant - just want to reduce the rendering times. Oh yes - I bought VF 2.0 here in the UK, 'cos didn't see the need to dowload what would have been about a six hour internet connection.

Good to see you VinceG and others from the "other place".

Please help me

Please download and install the VideoFactory 2.0c update from here. After installation, load some media into the timeline (AVI, WAV, MP3, it doesn't matter), and click Make Movie. In the window that pops up, choose that you want to render to a file on your hard drive. On the next screen, chose "MainConcept MPEG-1" as the format to render as, choose where you would like the file rendered to, and click "Next". The MPEG Plug-In will pop up and ask you to register. Allow it to regiser itself online, or follow the steps to register over the phone. Your MPEG Plug-In is now registered and you will be able to use it whenever you like.

I've downloaded VF 2.0c and have emailed Sonicfoundry with some subsequent questions.

When I get a response I shall hopefully post back here the results of what you suggested.

I've been reading on this Forum some of the Upgrades/update issues going from VF2.0 to VF2.0c. Is there any known issues that can be corrected after I let loose the 2.0c update on to my hd? My VF 2.0 is working so well that I reeeally don't won't to ruin anything.

Do I need to totally uninstall 2.0 to install the 2.0c update? What do I unisitall? What happens to my registration status when and if I do this?

Hi Grazie! I am very glad that you are having such a pleasant experience with VF. Welcome to the forum! :)

Anyway, I believe you shouldn't have to uninstall anything. Just download 2.0c and run the set-up file. It should install itself over the old version. Any files and projects you have previously saved will not be lost. I am not sure about the registration status.

I've been reading some posts here about people updating to 2.0c and having problems. Do you have thoughts on this one?

I'm using WinME and VF 2.0 works like a dream. So, should or would I encounter an update problem. You know the one "if aint broke" etc etc. Apart from the mpeg thing I would have access to, what else would I gain. Running WinME and the more than 2gb batch capture function (for me not exsistant in VW5 - although that was the reason I bought VW5) that is now working in VF2.0 - would it still work with the update?

Once again VinceG, thanks again for your invitation to come over to VF - do you have any feedback on my novice approach to "INtuitive ... frame Searching & Pseudo Stereo"?
