Nice one Ian!
[as seen on Chienworks Share 'n Compare site]

Can I have a muck 'bout with it? I've got some ideas I want to try out... I can't ensure quality 'cos I'll be using the MPG version to start with. I think your quality is excellent. How do you get such terriffic quality?

Thank you! Muck about to your heart's content - I'd be happy to see any changes! If you want to contact me directly we can arrange getting you something in a less compressed format. Ian.Gore@fshfc.org

The camera was a Canon MV200i, bought as the 200 but I hacked the firmware to enable the DV In . It was mounted on a "Freshold Binocular Mount". This was something I bought several years ago to steady my binos. Unfortunately it doesn't work well for astronomy (my main interest) so it languished in a cupboard until I found it recently. It does the business for a camcorder though!

It's a bipod with legs that adjust in length between about 1-2 feet. The unjointed ends are connected by two adjustable straps, one goes round your neck to take the weight, the other goes across your chest to prevent the legs splaying too much and to add some extra support. The jointed end has a cheap ball and socket mount bolted on, which takes the camera. The camera strap also goes round your neck.

#1 Son used it for the abseiling and I've used it for recording the kids playing football (lots of movement!). We're both very pleased with it!

Cheers

Ian G.
