Well, I have used all three programs and all have done the same thing. Wierd, basic problem but annoying. In the Explorer windows, icons for photos or other files are really strange. A key board icon for .wav files, monitor icons for photos, disk icons for movie files, WHAT GIVES?
In windows, open a folder that has some of your wav, avi, ect. files. Right click on a file of choice and select properties. Where it says: OPEN WITH select change and pick a program of choice. You icons will now show that style icon.
Side note:
In Vegas 3 beta, there is no thumbnail view in explorer. Media pool has them. Will Vegas 3 final release explorer window have thumbnails in the final version ?
a friend of mine recognized the explorer interface in Vegas to be from an M$ SDK... which would mean to me that the feature set is pretty much locked up in that window.
happened to me in Win95, WinNT4, Win2k, and i'm not sure about WinXP yet. not specifically related to Vegas, but just a thing that happens in general every once in a while... sometimes more frequently than others. i haven't discovered the cause or solution.
Thanks to all. I am running ME for now. I just downloaded and installed the release version of VV3. It is great. Working on my first project. I still have those goofy icons, a hammer and a disk for some. Weird. That is windows I guess. Thanks to everyone for all the help.
