icons on menu bar disappearing, again...

i've had an assortment of icons i've added to the tool bar (9e) for various often used scripts.

on my last project i had to do a lot of minimising, ps, and multiple instances of vegas and noted that quite often the icons would disappear, but the function would still be there (ie. clicking where reset pan/crop icon was still invoked the script).

it's really no big deal, but i was wondering whether it's me or sony ;-)

leslie

btw. had this at some stage or other on nearly every pc / vegas combination i've owned.

Me too, going back several versions of Vegas. Rescanning the script folder brings them back. Annoying? yes, showstopper? no.

Showstopper? I agree it isn't ( and I have had it twice in VP9e). But it points to a weakness in the Affairs of State that, I'm hoping is not indicative of "other" issues too.

Here's mine - I still can't get Audio sync to external CRT. If I do Vegas hangs and dumps me out. SCS Workaround: Set Sync to ZERO. And this IS a Showstopper - literally.

Hmmmm....

Grazie

Hi,

This problem is connected with user rights. If you have defined script and extension directory in folder :

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0\Script Menu

probably Vegas 32 can't read/write to this folder properly. This is the reason that Vegas 32 has to create his own folder in location (example) :

C:\Users\oem\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Vegas Pro\9.0\Script Menu

or in location :

C:\Users\oem\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Sony\.

I have noticed that there is a mess if you have different scripts or extensions attached to toolbar in 32 and 64 instance of Vegas. To overcome this obstacle I have defined my own scripts directories (using Internal Preferences Tab) and I'm controlling content manually (acctually just copy/paste files in order to achieve state, that content of both folders is identicall : Vegas 32 will load his registered scripts and extensions).

After this operation all problems with icons in toolbar are solved in my config (no repetitions).

PS.

It would be nice to use place (for some new icons, like for example "lock/unlock track") on the right from transport buttons on timeline. This place is unusefull now and my toolbar is filled in 100% thanks to excellent set of "oneclickcommands" from Vegasaur.

Best regards,
