Ideas for File Management in Vegas

There's a few things I feel can be improved in Vegas's file
management. I work in a game company where we're actively using Vegas both for audio and video assembly. We work on different stations and have both local and non-local
file sources, as well as different computer configurations. This creates
several problems:

1. When you open a Vegas project gets opened on a station that has another
default Recorded File Folder, Vegas always defaults to the root directory of
the executable. This is really annoying: can't Vegas just remember a true User
Defined folder for recorded files and previews? Sometimes we've had to comb the
Vegas default folder and erase files from there. At the very least, Vegas
should use a separate folder in it's own directory for this. It's just messy.

2. Sometimes video sources and audio sources are different. This creates an
issue with "Copy all media with project". It would be great to have a tag in
the media pool that would allow exceptions to this copy, so that we could, say,
NOT copy the video, but only the audio, or vice-versa. The video people don't
usually touch the audio, and vice-versa.

3. There should be a user selectable option that allows Vegas to pop-up a
message before saving using "Copy All Media..." asking the user about the
unused items in the Media Pool. Often useless files get copied and incorporated
into save folders because of this. We'd be able to auotmatically drop these
files before the save, or cancel it and review the Media Pool contents. It
would be a good reminder.

That's it.
