Ideas for Scripts

I've just begun to realize the power of scripts as a new user to V-4. Very cool.... There are a couple of things that would speed up my editing life and figured this group would either know if they exist or someone might consider creating them (I'm not a programmer, unforunately!).

Idea #1: Ability to print selected columns from the Media Pool (or save files as .csv / .xls to be used from Excel). After batch capturing tapes, I like to have a printed reference of what's on each tape (Capture Comments, timecode I/O, clip name, etc).

Idea #2: This one is a little harder to describe.... I shoot videos for a web site. Often each clip needs to be trimmed, encoded 3 ways (.wmv, .mov & .rm) and uploaded (picture 10 sec action clips of racing). Is there a way to streamline this process (the batch render script is a HUGE help, but only does part of what I need). Essentially, if I put all of the clips that I needed to process on the timeline, the script would need to encode each clip in the three formats and ftp them off to the server (ok - the last part might be a stretch.... what would I do with all of my time....?). A workaround is to make a .veg file for each clip and use the batch project rendering script but that seems cumbersome (especially when dealing with 60 or so clips per race).

Thanks for your thoughts!

Rick

I'm working on something that will take care of everything you want for #2. I do not yet know if I'll release it for free or not. If not, I promise it won't be expensive.
