When i have used "ignore event grouping" on an event and disable this function, to work further in the "normal" way, it happens that the audio and video channel of an event, still are "ungrouped". Anyone noticed something like that?
Thnx for replying David. No sync-changing. I ungroup an event sometimes to cut audio and video at different lengths. If i proceed with placing the next event behind it (in the normal "grouped" manner), this next event(s) is ungrouped. Untill it is actually grouped, but cannot find the cause or reason, when or how it begins to "group" again.

Okay, to be clear. You select UNGROUP, adjust an event and then deselect UNGROUP, but the next event you add is ungrouped?

Yes, that's correct until ...your written "but"....i don't "add" events. The next events are already placed on the timeline, to answer 100% correctly (i edit directly on the timeline with all events on it). The problem i have is "sometimes", i'm struggling with this for years now. Don't know what i'm doing wrong, or do not understand the underlying cause. MAybe it has to do with events i have to "select or unselect" while using this "(un)group" feature?

The ungroup button is an OFF or ON situation and is not related to which events are selected when you enable it. If it is enabled, all events are ungrouped temporarily. If you disable it, any groups that were not disturbed should still be grouped. You can can ungroup an individual event without enabling the ungroup button, but that doesn't sound like what you are doing. Not sure why it is being inconsistent.

Correct, i do not do this. Don't know either why it is inconsistent. Maybe i get more insight with the knowing of the "The ungroup button is an OFF or ON situation and is not related to which events are selected when you enable it" ..
I think rik is not using that button, maybe he is using the rightclick option and if more events are selected( as he say doing it maybe sometimes not by intention) they al get grouped or ungrouped.
Yes i do....i use it for detaching the audio and video channel from an event, so i can use different start and end of an event. For instance, using the audio from the next videoclip or event on the timeline into the video of a previous one.
