i did some tests & it always movies both events but if I stretch it only start stretching the other when the shorter event hits that end of the un-short event.

that how it works for you? I'm using Vegas 6.

to ungroup video and audio click "U"

at this point they are no longer connected

to regroup CTRL click the video and the audio and then click "G"
They will once again be linked - but not the same way. You can no longer automatically synchronize them.

To regain this benefit, DOUBLE CLICK the video to select the clip, then RIGHT CLICK the video and "Open in Trimmer"

Drag the new selection to your timeline and replace the ungrouped pieces (Video and Audio) all will be well again.

If you have V7 you will notice that the sound track will turn red when you move it out of sync. If you did some simple moves just move it back until the track turns white then unclick ignore event grouping.

yea, but after setting it back for both clips to be adjusted, the splitting will only effect one or the other. I need to be able to split both simultaneousely. Is this really not possible after using this feature?
thanks

If you click an empty track anywhere you want to split events on the timeline, the split will extend to every track on the timeline.

On the other hand, if you split on a certain Audio or Video track, only that track will split (along with it's related Video or Audio counterpart).

If you've ungrouped the Audio and Video pair, you can't get them to synchronize automatically or split together, so simply replace them as in my post above.
