Image Flicker

Hey everybody,

I have a question regarding image flicker, I recently was given a VHS tape with some old 8mm footage on it the person who gave me this used the old "record from a camcorder while showing the film from the projector" technique, and of couse it has flicker because either he did not change the shutter speed of the camcorder or was just not very carefull.

Anyway is the a filter or someway that I can recuce the flicker in Vegas so my eyes dont start flickering and also will make it a better viewing experience for my audience.

Because the divergent frame rates were not locked down, as would have been with an aerial projector, the answer is no, there is no way I know of to quantify the differences, either in rate or illumination. Someone else may have an idea I didn't think of.

Manually adjusting frame-by-frame on the time line would be an exercise from hell, IMO.

Do a search. There were some old guides from johnmeyer that should point you the right way.

There used to be a Plugin for Virtualdub that would attempt to fix this. I never tried it but you might want to check it out. It is free.

it is called Deflicker

Thanks for the replys I figured that there would not be an easy fix for this, I hope to get the original 8mm films and have them converted by a conversion house that does really good work.

But thought I would try here and get some very wise advice from the GURU's here on the greatest forum on the PLANET......
