Image in video renders darker and abnormally saturated

Hi everyone,

Whenever I render a video (using Vegas Pro 14.0) to post on Instagram, I include a photo as a thumbnail. The photo always renders abnormally darker and more saturated than the original. It just doesn't look right at all. The video quality however is always great. Messing with the contrast,saturation...etc settings is very frustrating as it's impossible to get it back to the original state. Any tips or solutions?

Thank you.

How do you take the photo?

It's a screenshot from a video, not the best quality, but the original screenshot and the rendered photo in the video would appear different color-wise.

A screenshot? Why not just export a PNG image straight from Vegas?
