image time help

I am loading a lot of images into the timeline to make an Animation and I did this before.

I know you set the New Image Length but I forgot how?

If I put any number before the point like 3.000 it will move very slow.
So I did this 0.855 and it moves faster but not that fast.

If I go into the 0.966 it starts to blink Black as it moves.

What is a good time to put for images to flip like Animation I did it before but forgot?

How many frames per second do you want? Divide that number into 1 and use the result.

15 fps = 0.067
18 fps = 0.056
20 fps = 0.050
24 fps = 0.042
25 fps = 0.040
30 fps = 0.033

Or another way to look at it is how many seconds do you want the image to appear? In Options > Preferences > Editing, the New still image length is defined by seconds.

1.000 give you a length of 30 frames @ 29.970 fps in NTSC land. If you want the image to last a half second you enter 0.500 which will give you a length of 15 frames.

Determining what is good length is very subjective. It all depends on the mood you're trying to convey in your video, the music your using, etc. Only you can determine what a good length is depending on your project.

Added: Define what you mean by "animation". Are you talking about stop motion? Where you're trying to give still images the appearance of movement?
