Vegas Pro 9 can import and export various 4k formats including 4k image sequences.

4k editing feels - ah - good, if your Veggie benefits from powerful hardware.

Thanks. I'm just about to put together a decent Core i7 machine. That should be enough?

One more thing, if anybody knows. Does Vegas 9 have a proxy feature for specifying a lower resolution sequence to work in?

Thanks

Hi,

I had try 3K r3d files with VP9 / core2qud Q6600 / 3GoRAM : changing the preview setup to "sharp/quarter" allowed me to playback at full frame rate (with no effects on event !) and good image quality in the preview window (despite "sharp/quarter" !!! because there are really a lot of pixels).
But time render was huge (30s r"D 3K -> full HD Sony AVC takes 5 minutes !!!)

Full frame rate? That's amazing. The preview in Vegas has always been excellent, but I thought anything above 2K would kill it.

5 minutes for a 30 second sequence doesn't sound so bad. I expect it will be quicker if I output a sequence of images rather than a video file?

Thanks

No Idea. I had just made some quick tries, but I do not "work" with this type of media (maybe in a further day... ;-) )
