I have just got a Demo of Vegas 7.0c + DVD adn am trying it out.

Can anyone tell me if i can import DVD film footage into vegas 7.0c?

I just want to re-edit some films to create a new soundtrack of my own

I see this style of re-editing of famous films by "bedroom" film makers on YOUTUBE all the time - can Vegas 7 do this? or is this easier within Final Cut pro?

Thanks (i have soundforge and Acid also for Sound editing and composition)

Vegas has an Import DVD disc function. It works very well, but not on copyrighted discs.

Surf on over to www.doom9.net and see if they may have an older copy of DVDdecryptor - this was the best software available for ripping a DVD and defeating CSS (and macrovision) until the MPAA managed to get the web site shut down.
