mpeg files do not edit well. Whenever I tried I got drop-out in audio, and other artifacts. I think others have commented on this site about svcd or mpeg2's not being good to edit. Keep in mind they are already compressed, that makes it worse to edit as well. the_ripper

okay, but my problem is even trying to get the mpeg file into the videofactory editor....it won't let me drag the file to the track.

I will deal with the poor quality results when I get to them....right now, I am just wondering if there is a patch or something that will allow me to import an mpeg file into my Video Factory project.

The only mpegs I had trouble with is Mpeg 4, DIVX....MPEG 2's were never an issue, they always just dropped in. My guess is the source of MPegs you are using are of a different codec. the_ripper

hmmmm...could be. I was using ATI's TV panel to capture video.

Does the Sonic Foundry video capture program allow you to save in more than just .avi file types? I thought it only recorded .avis....

You need to buy the mgep plug in from Sonic Foundry's website for about $30.00 That's why it won't let you drag them in. i had the same problem.
