The Import Media windows is a standard Windows dialog that behaves like every other Windows Open Dialog. On my computer it behaves the same way in both VP12 and VP13 and I can sort by date in both. This has nothing to do with Vegas Pro. Did you change some Windows setting?

Nope. In fact, when I couldn't sort by date in VP13, I opened Windows explorer and sorted it there and dragged the files into Vegas.

And I just tried it in VP11 and it sorted fine.

The thing that makes me wonder if it's a 13 thing, is that they added the Video/Audio properties at the bottom (at least that's new from 11).

I'm stumped.

You're right. I didn't see those at first. This is definitely not the standard Windows Open dialog.

I did notice that when I changed directories, the listing changed. In one directory it showed me the Date, in another it showed Date Modified. I'm thinking it's getting the column headers from the Windows preferences. So, for example, if you enter the Music folder, it shows you Artist, Album, Title, and no date at all. It seems that Vegas Pro is not controlling this... Windows is! Could this be what's happening to you?

BTW, I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

Thanks JR,

But as I go to try to figure it out today I can't reproduce it. It was easily reproducible yesterday and now it's not.

I've done several re-boots so something must have gotten fixed during one of them.

Now if I can just make Mercalli work!

Thanks,

Keith
