Is it possible to import and separate the L and R channels? I have a sony trv-22 that does record stereo L and R, but I can't figure out how to see them separate w/in vegas. I would like to have them separated for some some surround panning.
thanks,

Place another copy of the audio onto a second track synchronized with the first copy. Right-mouse-button click on one of them and choose Channels / Left. Do the same with the other but choose Right instead.
thanks for the quick reply. I don't have vegas with me right now, but will this put the "audio recorded only into the camera's left channel" on that track? In other words, if I right click it to left channel, it removes all the right channel info?
thanks again.
A bit got left off!
Make two copies. Make one left channel only and the other right channel only. This will make both of them come out of both channels if it's a stereo mix so you need to pan the left one hard left and the right one hard right.
Haven't quite worked through then using that for 5.1.
I'd say though this will soon become a good time to start naming your tracks.
