What format is the file in? Is it in WMV or AVI? Regardless, they should both be able to be imported into Vegas as I have done both.

What do you mean by it won't drag. Does Vegas say that it is a file in cannot understand? Or does it physically not drag onto the timeline?

Dan.. thanks for the interest.

It is a .wmv file that I can't drag & drop onto the timeline like I can do for the .avi clip that is right next to it in the media file.

When yours worked did the video & audio tracks both appear?

Don't know if this helps as it is a puzzle to me.

If it's a copy-protected clip, Vegas won't open it. If it's not a copy-protected clip, Vegas should open it.

I can always get the audio and video tracks to appear. But like DSE said, if the content is protected (mouse over the file in Windows Explorer and it should say somewhere if its protected or not) then Vegas will not open it.
