Imported AVI is all Black on the Vid Track :(

hey there

when i drag my AVI file into vegas it shows up all in black :0

gspot says the video is OpenDML AVI

and that the video codec is XVID

this has only happend with a few avi and wmv files - but its not a problem rendering - its being able to get the vid to showup properly in vegas

if it is xvid - change the FOURCC code to divx/divx

and a search on this forum will give you more info ...

i tried searching but wasn't sure what to look for

i just kept seeing post about blackout - which is a rendering problem - and they seem to only have it in parts of thier vids

any ideas what i should look for?
