Importing 70 images to fit Audio

VegasPro22 wrote on 3/7/2017, 11:07 AM

I have a project where I need to import two types of Media:

1. 70 images

2. Audio clip

The catch is the 70 images need to spread across the 2:40 seconds of the audio clip. This makes the images about 3 seconds each on the timeline.

What is the best method (or easiest) to stretch the images on the timeline all at once instead of one by one to match the 2:40 timeline?

Thanks in advance!

By 2:40 seconds do you mean 2 seconds and 400 milliseconds or 2 minutes 40 seconds?

Drop all 70 images on the timeline back to back (with crossfades as desired). Select them all. Press "G" to group them. No hold down CTRL and drag the end to match the length you need.

2 minutes and 40 seconds

Excellent! Thanks a bunch. If I can sneak in a bonus question, with what you've said in mind, is there an easy way to crossfade them all the same, in one shot? :)

Cornico's image is very good. It also shows you the option to choose how long imported images should be. If you set that and the overlap you can do it all in one go.

Of course, another option would be via scripting which could easily do all of the above with the proper script.

Is the 1, 000 seconds? Or milliseconds? Do I change that to 3000? (for 3 seconds)

It says "Cut to overlap conversion (in seconds)" so it will be seconds. I think the "," is the decimal point so mine would read "1.000". So you would want 3.000 for 3 seconds.

VASST Still Motion is a very nice plugin for this task, you can choose the overlap amount, the transition, and even do "Pan and Zoom" in each picture, like a Ken Burns effect.

And it can also adjust the lenght of the video according to the lenght of an audio track.

See here.

While Montage Magic does not create the track for you, it will also assist in the Ken Burns look and even allow you to choose the beginning and ending locations. It will also give you a smart beginning and ending point which you can easily adjust and resize.
