Importing Audio Problem

Hey, if I could gt some help it would be much appreciated!

I'm trying to import video and audio from my video camera. I used an external mic, and now when I import the AVCHD files the audio is all messed up. However, I know the audio from the mic itself wasn't messed up, because when I converted one AVCHD clip to an mp4, the audio was intact and perfect. I don't want to have to convert all the clips to mp4s, that would take too long, and mp4s make my program run extremely slow.

How do I get past this problem?

Are you using Movie Studio's Device Explorer to move the video from your camcorder to your computer? Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime?

Many AVCHD camcorders are capable of shooting in variety of video and audio formats. Are you shooting in 1920x1080 AVC video? If you are shooting in 5.1 audio, have you ensure that your Movie Studio project properties are also set to 5.1 audio?
