I've imported video from my Canon HF100's memory card using both VMS 9 and Pixela ImageMixer. When I import using the "Capture AVCHD Camcorder" option in VMS, the directory and file names that I end up with seem to be relatively random and the files are saved with an .m2ts extension. When I import using ImageMixer, the files are saved in individual directories named for the year, month and day and the individual files are named using the date and time the video was recorded. The files are also saved with a .mts extension.
Is there any way to get VMS to save the captured files with date/time based folders and file names like ImageMixer does? Also is there any advantage to having the files saved with the .m2ts rather than the .mts extension? Finally, is there a third-party program I could use to capture the video files that would give better control over directory and file names?
Thanks in advance for your help.
