Importing Canon Rebel T1i video into Vegas

I have a Canon Rebel T1i DSLR camera that can shoot HD video in a Quicktime format. I am trying to import video I have shot with that camera into my Vegas Pro 8.0. However every time I do this I get black video. How do I go about correcting this problem? I'm guessing that this may be a codec issue. What's strange is that I've been able to import video from this camera before and I don't remember how I did it. Any suggestions? I have version C of Vegas Pro 8.0.

Just got the solution form mike on my other post.. here try this.
Uninstall any version of quicktime you have

download version 7.6.4 half way down this page. and install it.

i was having same prob after i installed the latest version of itunes/qt a while back and suddenly all my canon t1i files went dark...thanks for the info...installing 7.6.4 worked...

Dittio, (same issue for 7D and prob 5D also ) I ran into this before and forgot about it when I rebuilt my system....Ironic that the problem is actually caused by....apple....
