Plenty of advice here about using Virtual dub for post capture processing.
I capture video files using Sony Vegas (VMS) and do editing there.
The captured file format is:

I understand that input file is then from a SONY codec to provide DVSD into VirtualDub
After tweaking in VD, (Full Processing mode ) when VD saves the file (via save as AVI) it is saved as RGB .. uncompressed.
File format is:

I can load that back into VMS... but is the best format to use in VD ? ... I want to put it back into Vegas for final edit, and then render as MEG2 for DVDs
Is there better settings for VD output ?
Or is this where I should be using Frameserve ? ... I'll admit I have never used this (if it is, any tips?)
