Importing Flash

JimMSG wrote on 6/21/2005, 8:35 AM
I just received a Flash .swf file from a client for the opening of their promo video I'm working on. I looked at the chart, saw V6 imported Flash and figured I was all set. Unfortunately, I then noticed the asterisk, and the statement that I can't import motion or most anything else from Flash.

The question is, what can I do to get this Flash movie into my Vegas 6 production?

Vegas only imports vector based SWF's

I have used HyperCam ($40) to do screen captures of Flash files to video. Pretty much any other video screen capture will work as well.

Thanks Liam,

Does the quality suffer a lot using HyperCam to capture the Flash movie? I tried a free version of a screen capture program once to experiment with getting PowerPoint shows into Vegas and didn't like what happened to the quality. Never really looked at something that was not a freebie though.

Hi JimMSG,

The flash application will actually export .AVI files. Can you ask your client for that kind of export from the .fla original?

Cheers,
