Importing Numbered Photos from Folders

I am new here and have saved the photos I want to use in a folder on my computer. However, when I try to import them they do not go in numerical order, but all the photos starting with a number 1 are all together ex. 1, 10, 11, 100, 110, instead of 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. How can I number these so they are in the order I have in my folder. (I have just spent hours rearranging them in my folder only to find this out in Vegas Movie Studio) HELP!!

Vegas *is* using them in numerical order ... "computer" numerical order.

If the highest number is (say) 234 .. then instead of starting with image number 1, you need to rename it to image number 001

In other words if the highest number has 3 places, than ALL the numbers must have 3 places.

There's a freeware program out there that I use called "file renamer basic" (http://www.sherrodcomputers.com/products_filerenamer.cfm). It will let you do a lot of cool batch-type changes to files, such as adding leading zeros and so forth. This might help you out.

Just an idea: if you have the files in the right sequence in a windows folder then it should work if you click the last file and then shift+click the first of them.
Then click+hold the first file and draw it - and the rest of the selected files - to the timeline.
This should put the selected files to the timeline in the same sequence as you have selected them in the windows folder.

Maybe this article about sort order can help you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319827
