Importing One Project Into Another

I worked on one project, have it finished but need to import the project exactly the way it is, into another project I am working on. I need the files split up like they are with audio in its own track, and all the videos in its own track, etc. Anybody have any ideas besides rendering it into one file? Thanks!

Open Vegas, Open the project, Press CTRL-A, and CTRL-C.

Open a SECOND INSTANCE of Vegas, open the second project, move the the appropriate location, press CTRL-V

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't copy track level effects and motion, which can be a pain to recreate. However, it is the best method I've found aside from rendering the first project and importing it as a DV avi.

Would using the "Save As ..." option do it? Open the old project, "Save A.." with new project name and in a differet folder.

I would love to do this as well - on a few occasions.
Maybe something for version 4

Anyone ever try saving the project as an EDL, then importing the EDL into a new project? I recall doing this a while ago, but don't remember if it imported everything, or if you can import into an existing project.

You should try saving the track motion & FX settings as templates in the project to be moved.
Then do what jetdv said.

If it's a complex project, you may have to drag the track headers up/down, but then just open the tracks 'Track motion', and select the saved template, same for the FX chain you made.

Haven't tried the EDL thing
