You can export your powerpoint slide in jpegs (you may want to change their size to 16x9), and then import these in VMS like you would do with still images.

@Terry, since the OP didn't specify, you could be right. Here is one that will convert to AVI for free (dislaimer, just found it by searching, no idea if it works):
