Importing PSD Files with text layers

I am an Encore user trying to make DVDA3 work for me and because I design almost all menus in Photoshop getting the PSD layered import to work is critical. I've tried importing several now and am OK with the idea that I have to compress all non-button related graphics to a separate background page and with the fact that DVDA3 drops all the text style attributes from text-layers. So OK, I can rasterize everything into layers just for DVDA. But here are the big glitches: 1. When I import rasterized text layers as graphic buttons I don't see the graphic! All I see is the same old text (sans the attributes used when the layer was rasterized) - this doesn't seem possible. 2. When I import highlight layers - the images aren't in the proper location or even the proper size. They are too large and way out of position and there isn't anyway in DVDA to move them.

Not sure what I need to do to get stylized text to import properly or why highlight layers don't import the proper size or in the proper location. Has anyone resolved the text issue?

I had basically the same problem with PSD import of text layers as well as graphic layers with DVDA3. Tried to get someone from Sony to answer questions on this board to no avail. It seems the only layers that DVDA3 support are buttons and backgrounds. What I did to fix the problem? Switched to another application that handles PSD layers properly. One DVDA3 customer lost! Perhaps you should look at another application...I recommend DVDLab Pro. It is a great program with pretty good support and a very active forum that will help when the occasional problem arrises.

Thanks for the reply - too bad this forum isn't working to get constructive communication to/from Sony and its customers. Thanks for the recommendation though I wasn't clear if the program you switched to that handles PSD layers correctly was the same as the product you recommended??? I looked at the DVDLAB pro site and didn't see any mention of PS at all. I've used Encore for some time - great PS integration - but fickle as hell on changes. Meaning that the product is intolerant of external file updates and doesn't support timeline reordering. You essentially have to a perfect set of files and perfect plan before starting - then most things work well. If you for whatever reason you need to ripple a change, I've found it best to start the project over (ugh)! I liked that DVDA is so good with automatically integrating external file changes and has full support for shuffling changes. I had just hoped that PS integration was more robust. The more I try it the more I realize that it isn't fully thought out or debugged yet. Perhaps DVD3a will address this. Sony if you are listening - I am happy to beta and provide constructive input.
