I often work on Official Movies material for my projects (it's usually a Music videos where i do a kind of mashup from a film including sometimes some dialogues, but to do the mashup, i need the whole movie and subtitles to Re edit it completly).

When i import a SRT file of a long feature movie (like a 1h30 or 2h movie), Vegas pro slow down so much that it's impossible to use.

from what i see, it's due to the fact that EACH line of subtitle are imported as a media text, and in the end, it make maybe 1500 to 2000 medias on the timeline. i have 32Gb of memory and a i7-7700 Cpu (Nvidia GT640 but i use the internal HD 630 Graphics from my CPU as a graphic card (faster than my GT640).

is it the same for you guys ?

i remember not having this issue when trying the trial of Vegasur, from what i remember, the subtitles can be imported in one big media text file with subtitle as keyframe, is it this which make it working and not "slowing down" vegas ?

With the release of VEGAS Pro 17 in one month, i can't purchase vegasur, and hope (can i ?) that this will be fixed in V17 !

if anybody here has any idea, they are welcome, can't really work with the subtitle feature since Last year because of that :(.
