importing still images

Firsty let me say I'm totally brand new to all this.....

I'm going to create an openning scene for my movie, using Bryce 3d v5.1, it can either create the animated scene in avi format or stil images... I'm thinking stil images may be the way to go since it'll give me more control to make additional changes to individual images if I want to , my question is - whats the ideal resolution to use, image size? bigger the better? or~~?? once the animated scene is added in, I'll then add in the movie from my digital movie cam, but wanting to create some sort of intro, and end scene, and realising that Bryce could be an ideal way of doing this ~ it's openning up the ability for creativity! :) just this question over the image size I should use.
Many thanks,
Stuart.

Still images at a 1.0 aspect ratio should be 654x480 for NTSC or 786x576 for PAL.

787x576 for PAL images.
786 would cause a small vertical line on both sides of the image and a small amount of squeezing. This is something which does Vegas wrong for still image export. You can try this by exporting a still as a JPEG. It's 786x576 then. Reimport it and do this process severall times. You'll notice how the squeezing (and the black line on both sides) will grow.

Don't know why Sonic Foundry chose 786x576 for export. Hope Sony fixed it in version 5.
787x576 fits perfect (for PAL DV) for import though.
