Does DVD Architect support importing text subtitles from UTF-8 encoded files that have unicode characters? I imported some subs that have, for example, musical symbols that are Unicode, but they're not displaying properly, i.e., displayed as multiple ANSI characters.
I forgot to mention in the original post that I CAN copy and paste the symbol from the Unicode char set directly by editing the text. This would be a LOT of work as I'd have to it manually for EVERY character since I don't see a way to search/replace through all subtitles.
An example is the music symbol (the one I'm using). If you open charmap in Windows, select Arial and check Advanced View. Character set should already be set to Unicode. For Group by, select Unicode Subrange which will bring up a list. Scroll down to Symbols & Dingbats and it's from this list that I use the character(s).
I use Notepad++ so I can set the file's encoding and save it but DVD Architect either isn't reading it as UTF8 or is converting it to ANSI because the displayed characters are the same as when I switch the encoding in npp to ANSI.
Sorry you don't have a response. I played with your ideas, and I can't find a way to do it either.

I wanted to report back with a solution. I finally found out the encoding in which the file must be saved in order for DVD Architect to import it correctly. I use notepad++ which allows me to save the text file in UCS-2 LE BOM encoding which did the trick.
You can properly convert any subtitle file to DVDA format in Subtitle Edit. Set the format to "Sony DVDArchitect w. line# (.sub)" and the encoding to "1200: Unicode".
