Improving output of text (examples inside)

I'm looking for a way of improving the appearance of my Vegas generated text.
My credits roll from right to left. When the piece is rendered to PAL SVCD standard output, the titles when moving suffer from this rather annoying visual artifact

example here:

Question: How can I minimize/remove this visual effect and get smooth titles?

Thanks!

It looks like a field reversal problem. That's where
I would begin looking.

What I see there is what normal PAL or NTSC video with movement is supposed to look like - it's the field structure. Actually this is what makes movement looking smooth on TV.
If it is not meant to be watched on TV then do a deinterlacing when rendering the project.

Try setting to blend fields in project properties.

Thanks. That's not a term I am familar with, and the Help file doesnt appear to hold much on "field". What sort of parameters do you suggest modifying?

I'm not doing anything particularly fancy. I'm just sending text right to left. I can post more screenshots with the effect highlighted.

I'll cut it to disc and watch it on a TV to see if it looks less noticeable. Thanks for your advice.
