You may have dragged the handles beyond what you can now see.

You can right click on your clip in the pan/crop window and select reset to set your clip back to the way it was when you started.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that right-click method resets the original size, position, etc. of the clip -- i.e., the way it looks when it's played or rendered -- but it has no effect on the view in the Pan/Crop preview window. I had my view zoomed way in, and the image-resize handles had gone way out of the window and I couldn't get to them.
I did finally find a "Zoom percentage" setting among the various pull-down settings to the left of the window, and was able to get my view-window back to the size I wanted it by futzing around with the percentage there. But that's sure not a *convenient* way to do it!
In Adobe Photoshop, for example, you can zoom way in or out, and then double-clicking on the magnifying glass icon sets the viewed-image back to its full size. Sure wish Vegas had such a straightforward method!

While Vegas has a lot of nice features, this is one of the klutzy things. Its too easy to get "lost" if you zoom in too far. There should be a method like you mention as with Photoshop where you get taken back to the images's 100% view.

Like VideoFactory of Yore, Vegas Movie Studio has that neat little Zoom restore Icon tucked into the top left hand corner of the Pan/Crop tool Window Pane. This MUST be an easy thing to carry across to Vegas - yeah?
