incomplete rendering

I am running VF 2.0 I have created a 30 minute movie, mixture of stills, video, and animation. I am saving as NTSC DV for output to tape. Finished avi file size should be 6.4 gigs. (whoops maybe I'm answering my own question here) Am I limited to a 4 gig file size on win98se fat32? the rendered file is 4 gigs. If this is the case is there an easy way to decide where to split a file or just guesstimate. This looks to be about 20 minutes at the selected capture output. On a side note I did import the saved 4 gig file into Studio DV and rendered to DV tape. Had no problems with audio or video, nice clear clean output.

There is indeed a 4 Gig limit on FAT 32 systems. VF2 should automatically segment the rendered file at 4 GB (or thereabouts) so your 6.4 file should be segmented into one 4 gig file and one 2.4 gig file. If you use the Vidcap/Print to Tape utility it should play both segments seamlessly.

Unfortunately, Vidcap 2.5 reportedly has audio sync problems and Vidcap 2.0e doesn't support multi-segmented files (unless I missed something). Still try out Vidcap 2.5 and see what happens.

I'll just import both into Pinnacle Studio DV and output to tape. Shame I have to use two programs to make this work but it's better then beating my head against the wall trying to fix VF2's shortcomings. Studio DV is available at Best Buy for $49 after rebate, might be a cheap fix for those of you encountering audio problems

But it does work perfect. With the added bounus that you can scrub to anyplace in the project, then play from that point out OHCI. I've never had Studio Print-to-tape give me any problems.
It is the "Missing Link". Note, you will end up with a different project length that what you had in Vegas or VF. On a 25:41;17 project in Vegas, loaded into Studio DV showed 25:40:00. It played perfect, don't know what happened to those 47 frames. : )
Thanks for the info on the Best Buy deal. The title decko and music generation programs are worth the $50.00 cost, not to mention the perfect print-to-tape or OHCI card. I'm going to pick it up for my second system I'm building.
Cheers,
