Hey, this trick is right out of the book I'm working on for Vegas Movie Studio HD!

The easiest way is to group the stills on your timeline (select them all and then right-click and select Group/Create New).

Then, if you hold down the Ctrl key as you drag on the end of the slideshow group (time stretch), you can make the whole set longer or shorter as needed.

Steve,

With apologies to the OP for going a bit off topic, will you be providing VMS tips/tutorials at Muvipix too? It all seems to be geared towards another NLE right now.

Thanks for asking, Mark!

Yes, Muvipix.com will be very much increasing support for Vegas Movie Studio once the book is out -- as we've already begun to do for DVD Architect Studio since that book was released.

We've already opened a sub-forum on the Community Forum page of the site specifically for answering questions about Sony's video and disc production products.

Thank you

Thanks a million Steve. That is definitely the easiest way to change music and make the slideshow fits.

Now is there anyway to insert random transitions without using the "insert slideshow" option?

Random transitions? No, not that I'm aware of.

However, you can apply a single transition between several events at once just by selecting them all on your timeline and dragging a transition onto the intersection of any two clips.

Yes, I was aware of that one. Sony needs a right click when you select all the events and "insert random transitions" option.

When is your book going to be out?

The goal is to have it out by the end of April.

Thank you for asking, aquaholik! I'll be sure to post here when I'm giving away sample copies for review.

Vegas PRO *WILL* do this - via scripting.
