yes, but it's a monster PITA. Do you have the Mac still available? If so, the EASIEST BY FAR method is to have him export the piece using the XDCAMHD template in FCP.
Otherwise, do you have QT Pro? You can convert the file in QT Pro to an HD AVI, and you'll perhaps need to convert the audio as a separate file depending on how your friend encoded it.

Even if i don't see the image in QT Pro i still can convert it? ...When i open it i see only white screen, should i just Export it a sit is???

If you're not seeing it you can't convert it. At least that has been my experience. Things are going to get a whole lot easier once Cineform is released for the Mac. Finally we'll have a common HDV format.

Cineform is currently available in beta for the Apple system
Patryck, I converted a bunch of files recently from an Apple capture, it took hours/days. I need to revisit how we did it. For the second batch, I ended up going back to the original editor and telling him to re-output the files as XDCAM. It was very easy after that.
