As far as I know, only one program can even convert real media and that is EO Video. I know Vegas doesnt. Besides, Real files arent the highest quality to begin with especially since its a streaming format, albeit a very poorly written one at that.

Give EO video a shot and see what you can come up with.

I understand that .rmvb does not have as good quality, but that is the file I was given. btw, how are some of the shareware and freeware stuff, are they any good ? I am always worried that if I try some of them, I might download a bug with them as well.

I would try to get something other than the rmvb file if you can. If its for a client, you could always tell them that its against the DMCA to convert the RM file (well, if you listen to Real tell it that way). if not, you may be SOL other than EO Video. Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

Thanks for the warning. The material doesn't look like its commercial, but I am giving up anyway.
