insert camera 'shake' to simulate speed

Is there any easy way to add a good camera shake into my video to simulate that out of control feeling. So far the only way I can find is to pan/crop a few bizillion times...but this involves going back and forth between 2 video streams and manualy doing the pan for each frame to simulate the shake.....takes forever....and takes even longer to tweek it so it doesnt look terribly faked.

Actually, I am looking for the same type of thing for a little video I am working on. I want to simulate the turbulence a space craft would experience as it is re-entering the atmosphere.

I never tried this myself, but I saw this over at Donald Graft's VirtualDub filters forum:

You can find VirtualDub here: http://www.virtualdub.org
You can find Deshaker here: http://biphome.spray.se/gunnart/video/deshaker.htm

I really wish Movie Studio could accept plugins, then I could use Satish's VirtualDub wrapper for Vegas to access VirtualDub filters from within Movie Studio. Oh well.
