I have seen the routing diagram in the help file, but am
not enough of a techie to really grasp why I can't seem to
do the following, like I could in ACID:
Take a track, lower its main/master volume to -inf. Make
an insertable FX setup w/ 3rd party plugins, and route the
track to it using the volume level that now appears once
you've made the assignable FX (under Pan)... just like I
would do in Acid.
Play it back and ... no sound! I believe this is because
the Insertable FX routing is parrallel, and not serial,
like in Acid. So if the track's master volume is all the
way down, the insertable FX is not fed any signal, ergo no
sound. So this means Insertable effects are for parrallel
FX processing only, right?
Are there any plans to change this? I guess I am looking
for a way to make these insertable fx setups and process my
track SERIALLY through them. You can get pretty close by
putting the master volume up a few DB's and then cranking
the insertable FX send way up, and tweaking the plugin to
be pure effect, but it's still not completly "wet", which
is what I am looking for. I guess I like to let the
plugins mix the wet/dry ratio, as most of them allow you to
do.
Will there be a way to take a 3rd party plugin and tweak it
so it can be run in each track like the 3 SF plugins
currently available? I guess I got spoiled in ACID with
the serial processing of these effects per track.
thank in advance
