INSERT MARKER & KEEP IT WITH CLIP

I have been adding Markers to show where certain events are located on my timeline. The clip(s) have been edited and let's say for instance that I need to move a clip one way or another on the timeline to put it in chronological order somewhere. When i move the clip, the market doesn't move with it. Is there someway to lock the markert to the clip? thanks

On the toolbar, find the "Auto ripple" button; it will have a drop-down arrow next to it. Click the drop down arrow and select "All tracks, Markers, and Regions". Note that you have to have auto-ripple enabled for it to do what you want.

The marker isn't married to the clip unless you insert the marker in the Trimmer. In the Timeline, it's a Timeline marker. In the Trimmer, it's an event marker.
You can also enable ripple, but that won't assure the marker will stay with the clip, it merely assures that it's relevant point in time to the clip/event will stay the same.

Paul: Thanks for the reply. I looked around on the toolbar and cannot find the "auto ripple" button. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4.0/build 42. I am guessing you are platinum?? thanks for your help.

Oh, sorry, I don't know 4.0; I'm using 6.0. I suppose you could search the help for "ripple" to see if you can find anything on it.

Maybe somebody else knows if 4.0 has this feature.
