Insert Slide Show feature on Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum

BrewBots wrote on 6/21/2021, 9:01 PM

Discovered the Insert Slide Show feature but find that if I add more than about 400 pictures it doesn't know what to do with it, and in fact just kind of locks up on me. I found I had to do it in smaller batches, render the video, then combine multiple videos, then add the audio I wanted.

Is there a limitation how many pictures I can include in a batch.

I have no other issues with editing and rendering large video files, this seems like a SW limitation.

Hah - I get the crash too on MS 16.0. To be honest, a slideshow with 400+ pictures is probably not a great idea.

At the same time, I dragged over 1000 pictures from Windows Explorer directly to the timeline and did not get a hiccup, much less a crash.

I think the same, a slideshow with 400+ pictures and assuming every slide will show up for 5 seconds, will already take more than half an hour. I will be hard for the viewer to keep his attention.

Ha! 683 x 2s. Holiday travelling in France by Motorhome. Works brilliantly. So impressed with VMS. Music 'You sexy thing, Hot Chocolate x 5'.

You looped the same track five times during your show? Haha your sadism knows no bounds!

@BrewBots

Wow! "Insert slideshow?" Sounds super-cool! I've never tried it!

@Ross-Jackson

Traveling the French countryside by RV? Awesome! I've only been through Paris—never actually saw it. Took a cab right past it on my way to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (yes, I had to Google the spelling), where I stood in the middle of a tradeshow booth for four days and didn't even think to add a few hotel nights to see the city to save money (ahh . . . such a dope in my younger days).

However, on my second work-trip to Europe, I did manage to be driven on the Formula 1 circuit just before the race in Monaco while my producer actually got to drive it in a sponsored Porche 911, no less. Lucky bastard!

Wow! I just tried it—slideshow creator is great! I created a new default: a two-second dissolve (fade-in) and it works fine, but how do you start the dissolve on the first still (assuming the preceding media is a video clip)?

Hot Chocolate, Ross? I guess you are at the right age...

Emma is my favorite

Ross-Jackson wrote on 6/23/2021, 5:19 AM

Met Erol Brown in his show in Liverpool after the re-release of 'You sexy thing'. He started his show with the words to the audience, 'Thank you for making me famous again'. So pleased to have seen him. Yes, he did sing 'Emma'. Such a haunting scream. 2 month later, saw my other hero, James Brown, live in Liverpool.
