inserting a scene

I have a 30 minute project that has multiple scenes and effects. How can i insert a scene in the middle and not lose the timing and positions of the project on the left ? im not having any luck seleting all from the left and moving/sliding,,,there's always some that will not move. please help...thanks.

Well,,,,just scroll down the FORUMS list I see the same topic,,,,I will give the 'AUTO-RIPPLE' option a try as stated oin the post on 11/24/07

THe AUTO RIPPLE worked perfectly. Now,,,i cant seem to turn it off . going back to the normal edit tool will not change over.....everything is still moving.

The autoripple feature can be toggled on or off. Click the icon again to toggle it back off.
