Inserting after finished beginning

I am still using Sony vegas 6ob and am very happy with the ease of use.
However, I still can't figure out how to make all the video clips on my timeline become one event so that I can move it foward in the timeline to put an after thought intro. Is that 'grouping"?
I have been doing it the hard way by finalizing the project and then importing it like a new project.
I've been using this software for 5plus years but somehow can't figure out some of the simple things that would set me free and make me ready for upgrade to newer versions.
Can anyone offer some help?

Place the cursor where you want to insert the new material. Press Shift-Ctrl-A to make sure nothing is selected. Go to the Insert / Time menu and type in how much time you want. Everything after the cursor is moved forward this much time. Any clips that cross the cursor position will be split.

Although I personally use Kelly's method, another one is to Ctrl+A and drag everything downstream.
